GBMC offers several positions for nursing students who are interested in working in an acute care hospital setting. Nursing Student I's and II's function as Certified Nursing Assistants and receive clinical assignments on nursing units. Nursing Student position online applications are posted annually during the months of November, December, February, and March. New hire orientations are held in January, June, and July each year.
Nursing Student I (NS I): To be eligible, students must be certified as Nursing Assistants by the Maryland Board of Nursing prior to orientation and possess a current CPR card. Applicants must have completed at least one clinical rotation in their nursing program.
Nursing Student II (NS II): To be eligible, students must be certified as Nursing Assistants by the Maryland Board of Nursing prior to orientation and possess a current CPR card. Applicants must have completed at least two additional clinical rotations.

Nursing student rotations at Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) are designed to provide nursing students in various stages of their nursing education with exciting opportunities to learn first hand from our expert clinical staff. Under the supervision of a clinical instructor, students are guided through clinical experiences that provide enhancement of clinical skills that prepares them for their role as a registered nurse.
