In 1965, GBMC HealthCare began with a promise to the community to always put the patient first. Nearly six decades later, that simple principle continues as the driving force behind everything we do.

Today, GBMC remains the only community-owned system of care to serve patients in and surrounding Baltimore. Our intentional decision to remain independent has been central to our mission and our promise to deliver the best healthcare at a better cost that meets the needs of our entire community. 

We are truly your healthcare system. We care for your community. It is this perspective that guides all our decisions, and what compels our community to support GBMC through philanthropy.
