Meet Your Leaders: Fred Hudson

It's an exciting time to be a community-based health system like GBMC HealthCare. Of course, that doesn't mean things are easy. Navigating changing reimbursement systems and government regulations, while striving to be an efficient provider of health care and maintain the highest quality of care patients demand is challenging. But after serving more than a decade on GBMC's Board of Directors, I can say with confidence, GBMC has been a leader in doing this well.

For the next two years, I am honored to serve in the role of Chair of GBMC's Board of Directors. Not only because GBMC delivered my six beautiful grandchildren, but because GBMC's reputation for excellence is a legacy that inspires us to maintain and strengthen to reach even higher. I am proud to be a part of it.

I was recruited 12 years ago to serve on the GBMC Board as well as Audit Committee because of my financial background and my experience on other corporate boards. And, after a 37-year career as partner in an international accounting firm, my commitment to give back to the community where I have lived and worked has always been very strong. It is truly a pleasure to be able to serve the community in this way. And, I am excited about GBMC HealthCare's future and serving as its Chair.

Dr. John Chessare's leadership has been paramount to GBMC embracing value-based healthcare well ahead of others, and positioning GBMC to be flexible and responsive as healthcare evolves. In the next two years, we have even larger plans to make GBMC stronger and even better.
