Meet Dr. Sarah Whiteford, Primary Care Physician
September 14, 2020Having to find a new healthcare provider can be a daunting task. It’s difficult to know whether the provider will be a good fit for you from just a biography and a photo online. In the series, “What’s Up, Dr. Dovec?” GBMC bariatric surgeon, Elizabeth Dovec, MD, FACS, FASMB, interviews providers across the GBMC HealthCare System so you can get to know them on a personal level and learn more about their specialties.
In this episode, Dr. Dovec interviews Sarah Whiteford, MD, primary care physician at Family Care Associates at GBMC, who leads the new primary care office at GBMC Health Partners at Padonia. Dr. Whiteford shared details about the new 14,000 square foot office in northern Baltimore County and her new partner, Jonathan Hennessee, DO.
“I’m excited about the opening of our new office in Timonium,” she said. “I’ve been at GBMC as a family medicine physician for 19 years and have always worked on campus, so this is something new for me and I look forward to this new challenge.”
Dr. Whiteford and her family medicine colleagues treat people of all ages, from infants to geriatric patients. In addition to Dr. Whiteford and Dr. Hennessee, the new office’s staff will include Kelsey Terrones, CNRP, a family medicine nurse practitioner. There is also office space on site where specialists in gynecology, urogynecology, pelvic floor therapy, orthopaedics, and physical therapy can care for their patients in a safe, comfortable, and patient-centered setting.
“Seeing people from multiple generations in the same family is the best part of my job,” Dr. Whiteford added. “I have patients I first saw in the newborn nursery who are now off to college. By treating and getting to know people from three generations in a family, you gain extra insight into the patient’s health. It’s a special relationship.”
