I'm Not a Frontline Provider - But I'm Here

Doctors, surgeons, nurses, administrative staff, physical therapists, occupational therapists – these are just some of the frontline providers working on this nationwide pandemic. We also have many people putting in hours behind the scenes because it takes a team to care for our community. Now, more than ever, it’s time to stop and thank everyone.

I’m a Marketing Communications Coordinator, but I am also a healthcare employee. We continue to arrive at the office every day to provide support for and to assist frontline providers however we can. Part of that means disseminating important information to employees and the public. My coworkers and I continue to work around-the-clock (literally) to provide the most up-to-date information to the public, all so that our medical professionals can maintain their focus on treating each patient that enters our doors.

You see, for our frontline providers to focus on the critical matters at hand, it takes multiple support staff to ensure that everything these providers need is already taken care of. For example, unit secretaries, techs, admitting staff, environmental staff, IT staff, and more are working to make sure that supplies are stocked, patient information is collected, rooms are cleaned, all machines relying on networks are working.

This allows frontline providers to focus on the most important task: clinical care for patients in their time of need.

So, while you’re practicing social distancing by staying at home (and we are incredibly thankful for this!) and are sending gratitude to our nurses, doctors, and other clinical staff, remember there are many healthcare employees working alongside these medical professionals to ensure they have everything they need to combat this pandemic. It takes special people to work in healthcare, whether you’re a nurse, a doctor, a tech, a network analyst, a social media strategist, or something else, we chose these careers because we believed we could make a difference in the lives of those around us.

To our community: as your healthcare providers, we promise we will get through this together. After all the saying rings true, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
