About Us
Our program works to minimize the emotional impact associated with a diagnosis of breast abnormalities by providing a biopsy of suspicious lesions on the same day, or within 48 hours, of discovery. Because the Center treats both benign and malignant breast conditions, we can perform imaging, cyst aspirations, and minimally invasive breast biopsies onsite. Breast cancer patients can be seen within two business days.
Mammogram results are usually received on the same day as the test. If necessary, women can undergo additional diagnostic imaging and have a same-day biopsy, the results of which will be provided within 3-5 business days.
Our state-of-the-art, comprehensive, multidisciplinary care earns top accreditations.
GBMC's Comprehensive Breast Care Center and its affiliated Advanced Radiology Breast Imaging Center have received national accreditation as "centers of excellence." In fact, we are the only hospital in the state with an integrated center, each having independent accreditation from national programs.
The Advanced Radiology Breast Imaging Center has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology's Commission on Quality and Safety and the Commission on Breast Imaging.
