Pharmacy Residency Program at GBMC

Residency Requirements:

Pharmacists completing the GBMC PGY1 pharmacy residency will be able to interact effectively with health care teams in various inpatient and outpatient clinical settings to manage patients’ medication therapy.

Required learning experiences will include 9 required block rotations, 2 elective block rotations, and 4 required longitudinal rotations. Residents will also be precepting students, staffing, and completing research projects/presentations during the residency year.

Qualifications:

  • Resident candidate must be a graduate of an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (or one in the process of pursuing accreditation) or have a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC) certificate from the NABP.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 on the standardized GPA scale or a “Pass” grade on each class and rotation if from a “Pass/Fail” program
  • Active Maryland Pharmacy licensure OR license should be obtained no later than 90 days from the start date of the position.
  • Enrolled with the National Matching Services’ Resident Matching Program and adhere to the rules of the matching process.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
