GBMC's Pediatric Surgery practice, Johns Hopkins Pediatric Surgery, offers a full range of general pediatric surgical procedures. Emphasis is placed on helping patients understand what they will encounter the day of the operation, alleviating fears and making surgery a comfortable experience for both the child and family. We understand the special needs of children and offer the latest minimally invasive treatment options for children from birth through young adult.

Sherwood Surgical Center
Sherwood Surgical Center at GBMC opened in 1979 as Maryland's first ambulatory surgical center, named after Virginia Sherwood, a founding member of GBMC. It is the primary location for outpatient surgeries and procedures. The Center houses nine operating rooms and has the capability of performing a wide variety of outpatient and inpatient procedures. Extra emphasis is placed on pediatric patients, as the center provides dedicated pediatric surgeons, nurses and anesthesiologists.
