Robert F Pegues, MD

Dr. Pegues earned his medical degree from Duke University and completed two residencies – one in General Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and one in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The University of Maryland. Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Pegues was one of the first surgeons in the United States to perform a laparoscopic hysterectomy and has trained hundreds of other surgeons in this technique. His special interests include laparoscopic procedures, Gynecologic Urology and procedures for treatment of pelvic prolapse. Dr. Pegues is actively involved in hospital and professional organizations and has served as Chairman of GBMC’s GYN Quality Assurance committee for 20 years. He teaches surgical residents and medical students in The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine OB-GYN program and also lectures nationally to doctors preparing for their final board examinations.
