About Me
Michael Asike, MD, is a gastroenterologist at GBMC. After earning his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C., Dr. Asike completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He then completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Asike’s areas of interest include all aspects of functional gastrointestinal bowel disorders and general gastroenterology. Previously, Dr. Asike served as Clinical Gastroenterology Attending and Instructor at the National Capital Consortium Gastroenterology Fellowship and as Gastroenterology Attending at Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Center Multiservice Clinic in Fort Meade, Maryland. Dr. Asike is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Asike honorably served in the US Army from 2005 to 2016 as an active duty physician. He achieved the rank of Major.
