Christine M Helou, MD

Christine M. Helou, MD, is a board-certified gynecologist at GBMC. Dr. Helou earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where she also completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She went on to complete an AAGL fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Helou specializes in the care of women with benign gynecologic disorders and is passionate about improving women’s health through minimally invasive surgery. She has a special interest in treating chronic pelvic pain and endometriosis.

In 2022 Dr. Helou earned the focused practice designation in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery (MIGS) through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The focused practice designation recognizes gynecologists who have additional surgical expertise and dedicate the majority of their practice to the care of women with benign and complex gynecologic diseases. This designation distinguishes gynecologic surgeons who have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform complex surgeries for patients with benign disease safely and effectively.
