About Me
Dr. Greenawalt has been a leading member of the GBMC Hospitalist Group since he joined at GBMC in 2003. Raised in Baltimore County, he graduated from McDonogh School and later earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Wake Forest University. He attended the Wake Forest University School of Medicine (M.D. 2000) and completed his Internal Medicine residency with the University of Maryland Medical System in 2003.
Dr. Greenawalt is passionate about hospital medicine and the delivery of high quality care to the hospitalized patient. He is also a leader in the Society of Hospital Medicine, Maryland Chapter, which is a professional society dedicated to the specialty of hospital medicine. He served as the Assistant Director of the Hospitalist Group from 11/2007 - 12/2013. Dr. Greenawalt became the Director of the GBMC Hospitalist Group in early 2018. He participates in multiple leadership committees at GBMC, in addition to his clinical responsibilities and patient care.
In his spare time, Dr. Greenawalt enjoys a variety of activities, including running, swimming, snow skiing, and classic automobiles.
Hospitalists at GBMC attend to patients on hospital units and are not available for outpatient appointments.
