About Me
Dr. Shankar Awasthi graduated medical school from Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu, Nepal. He worked as a volunteer in a Homeless clinic in Salt Lake City for a year before starting his residency at New York Medical College, Metropolitan Hospital, New York in 2010. Since 2013 he has worked as a Hospitalist. Dr. Awasthi also worked briefly as an academic Hospitalist in Suburban Community Hospital in Philadelphia teaching Internal Medicine and Family Medicine residents, as well as medical students. He joined the GBMC Hospitalist family in 2014.
Hospitalists at GBMC attend to patients on hospital units and are not available for outpatient appointments.
