Hearing loss is the third most common health problem in the United States and it’s a condition that affects 36 million Americans according to the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders.

Hearing loss is broken down into three main types: conductive, which is due to problems with the ear canal, ear drum and middle ear; nerve-related, which affects the inner ear; and mixed, which is a combination of conductive and nerve-related hearing loss.
