Evidence-Based Practice
Nurses at GBMC are committed to providing the highest quality care possible to their patients. To ensure care is grounded in the most recent research, nurses utilize evidence-based practice to make clinical decisions and develop plans of care with their patients.
Evidence-based practice is a problem-solving approach that integrates the best available research and scientific evidence. This approach encompasses new research, patient preferences, and values, as well as clinician expertise in the delivery of quality care. GBMC maintains an extensive in-house and online library available to all clinicians as well as expert assistance with conducting literature searches for best practice. GBMC provides bedside nurses with opportunities to grow and receive recognition for expert evidence-based care through a variety of programs, including the Art of Nursing and Clinical Ladder Program.
